Seattle to Kuwait, Via London

The boys and I had an 11 hour layover in London on Thursday, so we headed over to the Tate and spent two hours wandering though one of the most impressive modern art collections in the world.  I'd never been there, so much of my time was spent admiring the building since I usually find architecture far more interesting then other forms of art.

On our way there, we stopped at Starbucks where Toby bought himself a birthday cupcake. Don't worry, we bought him some fish and chips with mushy peas and a couple pints of Guinness at a pub later on.  Unfortunately, we all had a couple pints and proceeded to start an hour long journey back to the airport with full bladders, no UK currency, and a restroom that cost 30 pence. Much frantic pacing, creative purchasing of things we didn't need and sighs of relief  followed before we were off again, led by our fearless, London-savvy guide Raven who taught us that taking the "creative" route is much more fun then taking the direct one - especially on 2 hours of sleep.
